Episode 23: Patrick Leenen – Mental Healthcare entrepreneur: Why Our Current (Mental) Healthcare System Is Broken And What We Should Change (Dutch)

Patrick Leenen – Mental Healthcare entrepreneur: Why Our Current Healthcare System Is Broken And What We Should Change (Dutch)

“Our Mental Healthcare System Is Broken.”

Watch Patrick’s TED Talk in Venlo here

Note: This episode is in Dutch!

Patrick Leenen is a mental healthcare entrepreneur who is trying to improve the mental healthcare sector. Via his previous company Blok Social Society, he tried to solve complex mental healthcare issues by applying different techniques and methods contrary to what is being done now.

Patrick believes the system is corrupt and isn’t sustainable the way it’s setup now, because it’s not about the people but about creating money and profit. But no one is there to blame, because everybody performs his job as he or she should do. But the way the system is setup, it’s impossible to really cure people because the system makes sure the patients will not be ‘cured’ but stay patients.

By applying different technologies e.g. Blockchain and AI, a lot of things can be solved already, like the waiting lists and the first phase of diagnosing.
